TABLE TENNIS: The Ipswich Table Tennis Association is moving its B-Grade competition to Deebing Heights State School.
Ipswich club president Gerard Marsh said with the aim of expanding its player base, the club has decided to trial a season at the newly established school.
"It (the association) has consistently fielded six sides in B Grade over the past 10 years but believes it has the potential to expand its numbers given the quality facilities on offer,'' Marsh said.
"Deebing Heights is also strategically placed to the fast-growing Ripley area and the highly populated Springfield region. At present the club attracts few players from these areas and is hopeful perspective players from these suburbs will be tempted to join.''
Deebing Heights State School was established in 2016.
It boasts a state of the art hall with a large playing area, plentiful parking and easy access.
Players will have every opportunity to hone their skills without feeling restricted by limited playing space.
"Should the season go well, the club will then look at moving its A-Grade competition to the hall next year,'' Marsh said.
Marsh said the Ipswich club has been providing coaching to the students on a weekly basis and hopes to establish a long-term relationship with the school.
