FAMILIES can get a taste of what a white Christmas entails when snow falls on South Bank this December.

Creators of Snow4Kids will transform the South Bank Piazza into a winter wonderland from December 14-23.

After hosting numerous events in Brisbane in the past, this will be the first time they have hosted a snowy Christmas event.

Event manager Anne Kowalewski said there would be plenty of winter-themed activities for kids and adults to enjoy.

"Beat the summer heat while racing down one of five snow toboggan runs, unwind on the dance floor at the Santa Disco with falling snow and Special FX, get your hands cold by throwing snowballs at an array of fun targets or gather the family for a cheeky snowball fight in the brand new Snow Dome," she said.

The machines behind the winter magic are designed by Bucceri Snow Making to create real snow from water in above freezing temperatures, producing up to 100,000 litres of fresh snow per day at the festival.

Tickets for Snow4Kids: Christmas Edition are now on sale now and are $15 per person, with hourly sessions running daily from 9am-9pm during the 10 day event.

Booking tickets is made easy with a simplified ticketing system and event structure that combines all attractions in one ticket. Children will have the flexibility to move freely between the attractions and play as they choose within a 50-minute session.
