So much fun happening at Amberley

Students from Amberley enjoyed their recent NAIDOC celebrations.
Students from Amberley enjoyed their recent NAIDOC celebrations.

THIS term we have had our NAIDOC week celebrations. It was great to see all children celebrating together and learning more about Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders cultures through story and dance.

The Amberley District Garringgam Dancers were part of the celebrations and also performed at the C&K Amberley Community Childcare Centre which is on site at the school. This was most enjoyable for all children.

At Amberley District State School, we have a playgroup called Little Jets which is open to all children from birth to pre-prep who are accompanied by an adult.

Playgroup runs each week of the school term from 9am-11am. Children can join in craft, singing, stories and outdoor play. One week we read Going on a Bear Hunt and went outside to re-enact the story. There was lots of fun for children and adults. All families are welcome regardless of the school children attending.

Prep enrolments are open at all schools for 2018. Schools run transition programs the year before school starts to help children settle in to school life. By enrolling now you will receive information to get your 2018 preppie started on the school journey.
