FOOTBALL: The Ipswich City Bulls have been eliminated from the annual Canale Cup competition after losing 5-0 to Moggill on Tuesday night.

Managing a hefty injury toll, Bulls head coach Norbert Duga fielded a Reserve side at Bellbowrie.

Having laced on the boots to help out this season, Duga is focusing on upcoming Capital League 1 premiership encounters where the Bulls are battling to stay in top four contention.

"We have six very important games coming up if we're any chance of playing finals football,'' Duga said.

"So it was best to keep players fresh especially with all the injuries and niggles we've had of late.''

The Bulls next CL1 game is against Oxley United at Sutton Park on Saturday night.

The Bulls are currently in seventh spot on 24 points with seven wins and three draws, just three points out of fourth in this year's hotly contested CL1 competition.

Toowong lead the competition on 35 points ahead of Caboolture (34 points), who have three catch-up games to play.

Western Spirit, in 10th place, host Caboolture in their next match at Kippen Park on Saturday night.
