HAVING received widespread critical acclaim, Shake and Stir Theatre Company's production of Dracula comes to Ipswich Civic Theatre on August 5.
The gory, gothic horror story centres around the young lawyer Jonathan Harker who visits Castle Dracula deep within the Carpathian mountains.
Harker is not expecting the odd hospitality he receives from his mysterious host and alone and trapped within the castle walls, the hapless lawyer discovers that Dracula wants more than just his presence at the dinner table; Harker might also be the main course. Leaving the young man for dead and his castle behind, Dracula heads off to London on a mission for seduction, true love and blood.
From the company behind the multi-award winning, national touring productions of 1984 and Animal Farm comes this new adaptation of Bram Stoker's twisted tale. This performance is suitable for year 10, 11 and 12 students and features magical realism, coarse language, sexual themes and supernatural elements.
Brams Stoker's Dracula, 7.30pm, Civic Centre, tickets $42, concession $37.
