DALBY shoppers certainly got more than they bargained for on Saturday, when a flashmob broke out in the middle of Dalby Shoppingworld.
Flashmobs, which have become popular in recent years, involve a group of people assembling in a public place and performing a dance before dispersing into a crowd.
Many flashmobs have become viral internet sensations through social media such as Facebook and YouTube.
The Dalby flashmob was organised and led by Danzfit owner and instructor Venessa Blight.
At around 11.30, the instructor began dancing to music in front Big W, with students initially appearing to be regular onlookers and gradually joining in for a 15 minute display.
"The Flashmob was to show people that it doesn't matter how old you are, what size you are, whether you're fit or unfit," she said.
"It's to show we have a wide range of ages and sizes in our class."
"Everybody can benefit."
Onlookers were certainly surprised and intrigued, with many watching the entire display and filming on smart phones.
Ms Blight said it had been an amazing experience.
"I've never done a flash mob before, it was our first one," she said.
"It was amazing fun. I can't wait to do another one."
The display was organised and with Dalby Shoppingworld staff and choreographed through dance classes and two practise evenings.
