MALCOLM Turnbull's Coalition start polling day as the short $1.08 favourites according to online bookmaker sportsbet.com.au.

The government has attracted 81% of total wagers - down from 87% in the past two days.

Labor are still a $8.00 chance to be elected while a hung parliament has drifted slightly in the betting from $4.00 out to $4.20.

"There has been some support for Labor in the past 24 hours but the weight of the money is very much still indicating a Coalition victory this evening,'' said sportsbet.com.au's Will Byrne.
